GM Nearly Sweeps Formula Drift Atlanta

Written by Corey Mullane | Monday, 12 May 2008 | 2 comments

Formula Drift Atlanta was a huge event for Pontiac drifting: two Solstices on the podium and the GTO in fourth. It was a long haul for event winner Rhys Millen, who persevered through two qualifying rounds and four elimination rounds. Rhys had an unwaivering focus. This will probably make me sound old and dorky, but remember Ice Man from Top Gun€™? That was Rhys this weekend: no mistakes. None. Then there'€™s modest Dai Yoshihara, claiming that he was still getting used to being behind the wheel of the GTO. . . Dai, I don'€™t think you can say that any more, because it'€™s clear you have pretty good handle on it! And Ryan Tuerck. Only his second Formula Drift event in his new Solstice with a new team, and he lands himself on the podium.

Absolutely amazing. Congratulations to all.

While it was a great day for Pontiac drifting, it was no easy path to get there. A lot of late nights and stressful moments were behind those great results. Rewiring, recalibrating, and chasing gremlins on the RMR Solstice; a late-night trans swap for Gardella Racing. . . Race day went well only because of all the hard work that was done in the days before. I want to thank all the guys that made the weekend happen. "€˜Super"€™ Steve Moore was tireless and driven. All the guys at GM Racing Powertrain: Richie, (who built Rhys'€™ engine) the wiring lab, fabricators machinists, and transmission guys (thanks for that last minute trans!). Of course the teams€“ - the RMR crew and Gardella Racing crew put their heart, soul, blood and sweat into those race cars! And the drivers: what and absolutely great performance! There is so much support behind these teams: family, friends, sponsors, fans. . . all that is what makes wins happen.

Be sure to visit Formula Drift media partners:€™ websites: Riceboytv.comWreckedmagazine.com, and TheDriftZone.com for great coverage of the event. And, I think you’ll also be able to see wonderful Solstice photography of the event on solsticeforum.com. What a pleasure it was to meet so many Solstice owners over the weekend, by the way. Thanks for your passionate support!

If you happen to want to see the pics I took, you can check them out on Flickr.
Looking forward to next time€“ - Formula Drift Englishtown.

Every one understands that our life seems to be not very cheap, however people need cash for various things and not every man gets big sums money. Thus to get fast home loans and auto loan would be good way out.

Following my monitoring, millions of persons on our planet receive the loan from different creditors. Thence, there's a good chance to get a student loan in any country.
