NHRA's Comp Eliminator class is a sea of V-8-powered cars. Bruno's turbo-charged ECOtec is an anomaly, making this award particularly touching for us ECOtec fans. My eyes really did well up (I swear).
Bruno's Chevy Cobalt is a Jerry Bickel chassis, with custom fabrication by Bruno Sr. and a carbon-fiber body. The race-prepared ECOtec engine is boosted with a Turbonetics turbo-charger and uses a Big Stuff 3 fuel-injection system. WyoTech, the nationâs leading tech school, sponsors them.

If you've watched the NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Drag Racing on ESPN2, you might recognize that Bruno is a host of the show. If you haven't seen it, yet, you can start watching the new season beginning July 10th.
