In drag racing, Brian Ballard is putting on a clinic in his Mobil 1/Borg Warner Chevy Cobalt. Ballard took his Chevy Cobalt to the IMSTAR Challenge this past weekend and went toe to toe with some of the fastest rear-wheel-drive sport compacts in the nation. Ballardâs competitors didnât know what hit them as Ballard came in and qualified in the number one spot. Ballard then duplicated his amazing performances all weekend long to take his spot in the winner's circle.
Jason Hunt and his Matco Tools Pro FWD Chevy Cobalt have entered into the ADRL series and has received so much attention that he recently was deemed a fan favorite. Hunt, in his most-recent outing, ran an ADRL career best 4.82 in the 1/8 mile to make it into the running for the elimination round. Coming into the first round of eliminations, however, Hunt was taken out by veteran Darrin Hoyle, thus ending the 2007 NOPI Champion's weekend.
It was a big weekend in drifting, too, as Ali Aljibouri successfully qualified for the Formula Drift Pro Am event at Virginia International Raceway by putting himself in the top eight in the latest US Drift competition. "Double A" qualified in third place for the US Drift event and then dazzled onlookers as he went through the first round of tandem competition to place in the Elite Top 8.
Everyone at CSI Racing does an amazing job putting these cars together and without them none of these amazing drivers and cars would make it to the starting line. So a big thanks goes out to everybody at CSI Racing! Keep up the great work.
