Road & Track is one of the most difficult magazines to get praise and recognition from, mostly because they test every single aspect of any particular car that they get. In their November issue, Road & Track took four sport sedans out for a drive and when they came back they had made a mutual decision: the Cobalt SS is "the most underrated car in the world."
Reading the Road & Track story made us smile as they were just experiencing something we had known for a long time, that the new Cobalt SS Turbo was the best bang for the buck sport compact car on the planet. It's hard to argue with that, as the Cobalt SS pulled off the highest quarter-mile trap speed in the comparison at 104 miles per hour and was able to cover the distance in just 13.9 seconds. The Cobalt SS also achieved the most lateral acceleration and highest slalom speed with its Nuerburgring-tuned suspension and chassis.
The new 2009 Chevy Cobalt SS Turbocharged has gained many new fans, which isn't surprising after driving one. One Road & Track columnist even said he thought the new Cobalt SS was "amazing" -- not something often said about a $23,000 car. We can see why he would say that though, because the Cobalt SS delivers sub-14 second quarter-mile times and gets 30 mpg on the highway, it's the perfect car for anyone that enjoys driving but not spending money on gas.
So stop by your favorite newsstand and pick up the November issue of Road & Track. It has all the stats that you can use to prove to your friends that your new Cobalt SS Turbo really is the best thing since sliced bread.
