GM CEO Fritz Henderson greeted the world today at a special Product and Technology Meeting to share with everyone some great news about the upcoming Chevy Volt and other current GM initiatives. Fritz and the rest of his team gave a rundown of the latest and greatest (we’ll get to that in a second) and in staying true to the new GM mission of making the company about the customers, they opened the floor to questions from the Twittersphere and from the Fastlane blog at GMBlogs.com. A lot was covered so we’ll give a quick rundown of the highlights of the show and what all this really means to enthusiasts.

  • Chevy Volt receives 230mpg rating from the EPA (Yeah, you read that right).
  • Cadillac will enter entry-level luxury sport sedan market.
  • GM will get 25 new models between now and 2011.
  • "The Lab" opens to gather consumer ideas on design and technology of upcoming vehicles.
  • Chevy Camaro Convertible is confirmed for 2011.
  • Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is confirmed.
  • GM will sell cars on eBay.
We're still raw on details on some of the more exciting items on that list but it sure seems like GM is here and planning on taking its place back as #1 in the world asap! We have a video of the whole shindig below, it’s quite a watch at 55 minutes but an interesting watch nonetheless.
