ECOtec-powered vehicles have dominated the FWD Sport Compact Drag Racing scene ever since they first rolled into the NDRA series back in the day. These drag-prepped ECOtecs produce up to 1400hp and literally leave competitors in the dust. All year long, CSI (Charlie Schafer Industries) has been rocking the Mobil 1/Borg Warner Chevy Cobalt at Drag Racing events across the county and spreading the ECOtec love along the way.

Jason Hunt recently filled in for Brian Ballard and took CSI’s Turbo Street Chevy Cobalt down the track a few times at the latest IMSTAR event. Jason did pretty well and put down some passes as fast as 9.11 although that wasn’t quite good enough to place on the podium. However, CSI isn’t a team to be outdone so they went back to the shop to get things buttoned up and then headed on over to a filming of popular game show Pass Time on SPEED. We don’t want to give away the results of those passes but we’ll make sure to let you know when the airing dates for this episode are so you can check out this hooked-up Chevy Cobalt strut its stuff on national TV for yourself.

The GM Sport Compact Racing scene is alive and kicking! We love to hear your stories about how you’re doing on the track as well. If you’re out there kicking butt and taking names, we want to hear about it! You can shoot us over your time slips and videos and who knows, we just might feature your ride on GMTS.
