Tjin Edition Camaro SEMA Build

A little while back we broke the news that renowned custom car builder Neil Tjin would be receiving a Camaro to build up for the 2009 SEMA Show. Neil has been one of the leaders in automotive design and styling for the better part of this decade and we were excited to hear that he and his team would get to do their magic to a 2010 Chevy Camaro. When we released the winners list we had renderings of almost every vehicle except for Neil’s Camaro which just left us wondering exactly what he had in store for all of us.

The Tjin Edition staff received their Camaro with no time to spare and went right to work by getting baseline dyno pulls for the factory power package, taking countless measurements and stripping the chassis down to bare essentials. Tjin and company have been keeping the project on the DL to keep our minds wandering as to the what awaits us come SEMA time but if it’s anything like Neil’s G8 CST he showed off at last year’s show, we’ll be in for a treat.

Neil did reach out to us today and gave us some new info but it’s just enough to keep us guessing. The partner list of companies supporting Tjin in his build is longer than a kid’s list to Santa and includes JE Pistons, K1-Technologies, Vortech, MagnaFlow, American Racing Headers, BDL Industries, BeCool, Nitrous Express and S.P.E.C. for engine goodies. For interior and suspension assistance, the roll call reads GlowShift gauges, Status Racing seats, Azentek Smart Mirror, Realm Audio, iForged, Falken Tires, SSBC Brakes and Air Lift suspension while all the the interior, audio and suspension work will be handled by Real AutoWorks.

We’ll bring you the latest on Neil’s build as we get more in. In the meantime, enjoy a little video teaser that Neil sent over to us today to show us exactly what ripping apart a brand new 2010 Camaro looks like along with two more videos of the Tjin Edition Camaro doing some breathing exercises on the dyno with only 20 miles on the clock.
