Complete Cobalt SS Turbo Build Data Released

On Wednesday we posted some data about the amount of Cobalt SS Turbos built and how many were painted in each color. We’ve been hounded by Turbo owners about making that info available for quite some time so we were quite excited to finally get it out to all of you. Of course, when you give a mouse a cookie, he’s going to want a glass of milk to drink. Once we posted the year/color match up, we heard questions and comments about factory options like the RPD, Advanced Audio, G85 and just how rare each one of these packages were.

Cobalt SS Stage 1 Drive & Ride Day

Cobalt SS Turbo Stage 1 Drive & Ride Day

There has been a lot of coverage of the Cobalt SS Turbo Stage kits on GMTS lately and for good reason - it's kind of big deal. However, even with all the coverage of the kit, the talk around town from all of you has all been "I want to drive it!" Not ones to let anyone down, GMTS and Bill Duncan, Design System Engineer at GM HPVO, teamed up to get some enthusiasts some seat time in a Stage 1 equipped 2010 Cobalt SS Turbo. Bill was actually so excited to see what fans and current SS Turbo owners would think of the kit, that he went out this past weekend to several stops in Southern Michigan to see fans reactions and answer questions firsthand.

Cobalt LNF Turbo Upgrade Update – July 15th

The LNF Turbo Upgrade Kit for the Cobalt SS Turbo is going to bring the Cobalt SS into a whole new arena in terms of performance and power output and is the only upgrade available to enthusiasts that want to retain their factory warranty. In addition, GM wants to make sure that regardless of which one of the 50 United States you live in, that you will be able to enjoy this new upgrade. That ability comes via the form of a CARB EO approval and is the main hurdle that the team in charge of the upgrade has to deal with to bring this upgrade to all enthusiasts across the country.

FAQ – Plug ‘N Play LNF Stage 1

Plug 'N Play LNF Stage 1

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive and we see online is concerning the issue of splicing into the factory wiring harness to install the new sensors needed for the LNF Stage 1 kit. We see the possible arise for concern if this was an aftermarket kit but rest assured that the connections made by the tech installing this kit at your local GM dealer will be as good as the factory connections, or else this kit would not be released as such. Regardless of that fact, some guys want to keep their engine bay as clean looking as possible or have some other reason for wanting a harness adapter and we understand that as well.

Get Your Intake On!

Intakes are the gateway mod. They are inexpensive, easy to install, give good performance gains and usually start you on the path to becoming totally obsessed with modifying ever last aspect of your car. But which intake is the one for you and what separates one from the other? In truth, intakes are a very complex part of your vehicle that are tuned from the factory to reduce certain resonant frequencies that your engine produces as well as keep water from finding its way to the filter of your intake all while taking in the coldest and cleanest air possible to help deliver good performance.
