This past weekend was Round 4 of Formula D and while our boy Ryan Tuerck didn’t capture the top spot on the podium, he did manage to steal the limelight by accomplishing the first (that we know of) vehicle to catch air under competition and complete the course. The story goes a little something like this…
Ryan Tuerck was matched up against Katsuhiro Ueo for a spot in the Great 8. Ueo was in front coming into the corner and slide a too far out off the line when Tuerck, who was coming in hard as usual, seemed to attempt to overtake Ueo by following a more shallow line. Tuerck ended up placing his back right tire right next to Ueo's front left tire and pop went the Solstice. In resilient fashion, Ryan drove his Mobil 1 Pontiac Solstice through the rest of the course like nothing even happened.
Our friends over at WreckedMagazine.com have the best video we’ve seen of the incident that you can see below. They also some the most extensive photo gallery of each and every FD event that we've come across so check them out as well for all your Drifting needs.
