"We are excited to be competing at VIR in this 6 hour endurance race, said GBMS Team Owner and Crew Chief Mike Kuznicki. "The # 01 SCADAPack Chevy Cobalt SS is a true warrior, seasoned and fit for the long haul."
"Pit strategy will play a big role in the winning effort. We've got the best drivers and crew members out there and the whole team is looking forward to this race!"
The hot-driving duo of Jamie and Eric is on a roll, having won at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah just three weeks ago. These two young drivers skillfully piloted their super-charged Chevy Cobalt SS throughout the 2.5 hour race. Jamie qualified third. With a quick race start, he charged hard to move into second in the first corner. Claiming first position for much of his 90-minute stint, Jamie headed into pit lane for the mandatory driver change.
Georgian Bay Motorsports is well known for the quickest pit stops in KONI Challenge ST Class "a distinct advantage when every single second counts." With a driver change, new front tires and a partial fuel fill up, Eric charged down pit lane holding to the 45-mph speed limit. Rejoining the race in 10thplace, Eric skillfully maneuvered the racecar through traffic for the remaining hour of the race, picking up positions as other competitors pitted for tires and additional fuel.
Having executed their perfect race strategy, the Georgian Bay Motorsports Pit Crew cheered wildly as Eric brought the # 01 SCADAPack Chevy home in first place, crossing the finish line running on mere fumes. This marked the second win this season for the # 01 SCADAPack Chevy Cobalt SS.
The GBMS team hopes to repeat this winning performance and entertain Virginia's race fans at the Grand-Am KONI Challenge ST Class 6-hour race coming up at VIR.
