It looks like the Cruze is getting more and more attention these days as it makes its way across the pond to US showrooms later this year. The latest highlight we caught wind of is exactly the kind of attention we like to see for the next Chevy Tuner car with it being announced that the Cruze would be receiving its own racing series dubbed the “Cruze Cup”.    
When the Corvette Racing team decided to make the switch to the GT2 class last August, many aspects of the current car needed to be addressed in order for it to meet the new GT2 class requirements. For a short-term fix, a 6.0L version of the 7.0L GT1 powerhouse was created to meet demand. However, with revised rules regulating GT vehicles for 2010 and some off-season time, the crew at Corvette Racing has been developing a more production-based engine alternative - enter the new 5.5L V8.
 After talking with Carmen Smith, you can see why she's excited about the start of another drag racing season in what promises to be a record-breaking year for Team Chevy on the sport-compact circuit. Since 2004, Smith has been program manager for sport-compact drag racing/drifting at GM where she has shepherded the day-to-day marketing, engineering and administrative activities of one of the most successful programs in the sport.  The weather couldn'€™t have been better for NHRA Sport Compact’s season opener at Moroso Motorsports Park in Jupiter, Florida, and the crowds came out en masse. In the end, the weekend was great. The CSI team, with drivers Jason Hunt in Pro FWD and Brian Ballard in Quick16, really came through for Chevrolet and ECOtec. They were focused and determined, knowing that they were fighting for an important head start in the championship points race. They got it, well deserved. Congratulations, CSI, on a dual-winning weekend.
 There is always room for improvement and Gardella Racing is no exception to this rule. Once the team got back from the first NHRA event at Moroso we sat down to talk about the improvements that needed to be addressed before the next event in Virgina. Many of these changes needed to be made in order for me to feel more comfortable as a driver in the racecar.
