Don Nase Isn't Scared of Any Blown V8s

Listen up race fans, Don Nase and his turbocharged ECOtec GM dragster went up to the I.H.R.A Torco Race Fuels Nitro Jam, which held its "President's Cup Nationals." To say the least, Don went up there and represented what GM and the Sport Compact scene has evolved into.

Congratulations Don Nase Jr!!!

This past weekend was just supposed to be another day of racing for the Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland; but that's just because they forgot Don Nase Jr. was planning to stop by!
Following the NHRA rules for his I/D class dragster, Don had to run a smaller turbo and add weight to comply with the cubic inch per pound rule, but that just made the veteran racer even more determined to show everyone what his 2.1L ECOtec could do.
Nase Jr. rolled up to the line, for the first time ever at this track, and ran a 6.81 @ 190 mph! Shocking everyone in attendance, Don returned the next day to secure his spot in the record books by pulling out a 6.83 @ 190mph! We just want to say congratulations to the new national record holder Don Nase Jr.
And we can't wait to see what you have in store for the rest of the season!

GM turns up the heat at NDRA Phoenix
The second event of the season - NDRA Phoenix. It approached 100 degrees in Phoenix, a shock to those of us who flew out of snowy conditions in the Midwest and Northeast. In fact, Don Nase Jr., driver of the ECOtec-powered dragster, almost didn't make it at all. He faced canceled flights and a sleepless night spent at JFK airport just to make it to Firebird Raceway in time for the final qualifying round on Saturday. He left the event a winner, so hopefully that made up for the struggles in getting there.
