Rhys Millen Wins Red Bull Drifting World Championship
Written by Corey Mullane Monday, 17 November 2008

Becoming the world champion of anything is a terrific accomplishment, and after this weekend's Red Bull Drifting World Championship, only Rhys Millen can call himself the "World Champion" of drifting. Rhys Millen, and his Pontiac Solstice GXP, went up against 32 of the worldâs best drifting competitors this past weekend in Long Beach, with 17 of them being past or present champions of other top drifting organizations.
"To come up after one of the most challenging years in Formula DRIFT and finish in the top 3 and then to be the marquee driver at this premiere event and take the Red Bull Drifting Championship outright is a feeling I have never had before," said Rhys Millen, Formula DRIFT driver and event winner.
Millen had to bring his "A" game to this specially built track in the Port of Long Beach that featured 6 highly technical turns and a long straight that developed high entry speeds all weekend. Millenâs Pontiac Solstice GXP also set the bar for the top entry speed with a mph of 103.7 during the final round of competition.
From all of us at GMTunerSource.com we want to congratulate Rhys Millen for all his hard work and for becoming the very first Red Bull Drifting World Champion.
