Do You Think You Can Rev It Up?
Written by Andy Williamson Wednesday, 08 August 2007

We checked in with Dan Passe to see how the exciting Rev It UpTM tour is going, and are we ever glad we did! If you haven't had a chance to make it out to a Rev It Up event, we strongly suggest you do so.
Here's what Dan had to say:
"Andy, we have had thousands of racers, millions of smiles and the 2008 Corvette is still up for grabs! We're working our way across the country from San Francisco to D.C. to find the most versatile amateur competitor out there. The great thing about it is the entry fee is only $25, and there is no experience necessary. It's still anyone's game."
After four highly popular events, with more than 6,000 drivers honing their driving skills and competing in San Francisco, Orange County, CA, Houston and Orlando, the Chevy-powered Rev It UpTM 2007 national performance driving school and racing competition continues on to New York/New Jersey (Aug. 3-4) and Washington D.C. (Aug. 10-11).
The competition and excitement is expected to intensify as the summer continues. A number of serious competitors from all over the country are scheduled to attend the two remaining events, gunning for more shots at the national title.
Christopher Ramey, Rev It UpTM 2007 Houston event champion, currently leads the national competition. As a first-time Rev It UpTM participant, Ramey describes his experience this way: "It was exciting, intense fun and I also managed to learn new tips and tricks for both racing and street driving." It's really an event dedicated to those who love cars "I strongly recommend that everyone come out and give it a try!"
Steve O'Blenes, of Garden Grove, Calif., stands second in national points, winning the second Rev It UpTM 2007 stop at El Toro (Orange County, CA). Ryan Buetzer, of Long Beach, CA emerged as the San Francisco champion under blustery conditions in the Bay Area competition, and Dan Shields, of Valrico, FL, beat all comers at a hot and rainy event in Orlando.
