Top Gear Goodness - Friday Update

News

As general enthusiasts about any and everything automotive we love us some Top Gear. As lovers of the aforementioned show, we are getting antsy for this Sunday to arrive as it marks the beginning of Season 13 of the franchise. We’re sure this Season won’t disappoint despite recent cutbacks at the BBC as we’ve heard that the new season will include, but will not be limited to: races against locomotives and the postal service, drag races among service vehicles and tons of tire destruction in very expensive cars.

While browsing the Top Gear site, to get our fix before this Sunday, we came across some cool features that we thought we were obligated to share with everyone. The first one is a cool interactive Top Gear Track where you can go turn-by-turn through the Top Gear Track and even see each turn the way the Stig sees them, just remember to brake hard going into Gambon. You can find that feature here – Take a ride on the Top Gear Track. The next one is sure to help end tons or arguments about exactly how fast each car has made it around the Top Gear Track - it’s the online Top Gear Power Lap Board! You can even watch most of the track runs straight on the site.

Season 13 of Top Gear premiers at 8:00pm on BBC - The Deuce. If you don’t get BBC2, just make sure to grab the episode off the torrents so you don’t miss any of the action. Also, in case you’ve been living under a rock and have not seen the trailer for this upcoming season, we have it embedded below for you to check out. We want your feedback too, so if you have any guesses on what mayhem may be in store for this season or what you’d like to see blown up, driven, raced or launched out of cannon, chime in below.

Friday 6/19 Update - New second trailer released by Top Gear today added below.

I've really enjoyed the show the past few years...though IMO Clarkson is becoming more and more of a Rush Limbaugh, say-it-just-to-get-outraged-feedback kind of "reporter" or whatever. I mean, it might be smart marketing or whatever to get the press but up until recently he has been a pretty good authority on cars. The reruns on...Speed is it?...are insulting: "Here's the NEW Porsche Cayman..." WTF? So it's to the torrents for car fans over here in the US. But still, for me, the best overall show that features automobiles.

Yeah, BBC America really needs to get on the ball and simulcast Top Gear over here. And Jeremy is a little ridiculous sometimes, I can't stand how he just scoffs at any new Porsche that comes out, I mean come on, it's a freaking Porsche.
